The MacDougall Library serves the Junior School. The library is a busy learning environment that houses a comprehensive collection of resources. The library not only supports the IB curriculum and research, but also fosters a love of reading. The extensive fiction section includes picture books, leveled readers, easier chapter books and intermediate fiction. The non-fiction collection offers a variety of materials from the K-7 reading levels. The library also has a French collection and dual language books.
The teacher-librarian is part of the collaboration team with the PYP and MYP teaching staff. Library and research skills are integrated into the many IB themes units covered within each class. The library also administers the Accelerated Reader program, which tracks student reading on a daily basis and develops comprehension skills.
Both the library catalogue and digital resources can be accessed remotely through the school website.
