Senior Swim Team Places 3rd at Fraser Valley Swimming Championships

The Senior Swim Team had a very successful re-run of the Fraser Valley Swimming Championships. Our swimmers placed third out of 52 schools with many top three finishes.

Here are the Fraser Valley Champions:

  • Lauren Toy won the 50m breast stroke with a new Fraser Valley record.
  • Emma Lawson won the 100 IM also with a new Fraser Valley record.

 

We also had the following relay wins:

1.    Girls Open 4x50 medley relay: Madeleine Scarth, Lauren Toy, Cindy Shu and Elizabeth Lawson.

2.    Girls Open 4x100 freestyle relay: Stephanie Lee, Mikaela Wilson, Cindy Shu and Elizabeth Lawson

3.    Mixed Open Freestyle relay: Yik Jun Wong, Stephanie Lee, Catherine Grimme and Kaijia Liu.

4.    Girls Open 4x50 freestyle relay: Stephanie Lee, Elizabeth Lawson, Cindy Shu and Catherine Grimme.

5.    Boys Open 4x50 freestyle relay: Kevin Liu, Yik Jun Wong, Malcolm Beaton, and Kaijia Liu.

Madeleine Scarth qualified second for provincials in her 100m backstroke which is amazing as a Grade 8 racing against seniors.

 

The following relays also placed second:

1.    Boys Open 4x50 medley relay: Kaijia Liu, Yik Jun Wong, Malcolm Beaton and Kevin Liu.

1.    2.Girls Open 4x50 freestly relay: Madeleine Scarth, Mia Cender, Mikaela Wilson and Lauren Toy

2.    Mixed B freestyle relay (all Grade 8s!!): Elizabeth Lawson, Sunny Yang, Madeleine Scarth and Yik Fung Wong.

3.    Mixed Open medley relay: Isabel Howie, Yik Jun Wong, Cindy Shu and Kevin Liu.

 

Congratulations to all swimmers and we are looking forward to an exciting provincial meet. Thank you to our large group of grads who helped us out during the meet and all raced super well. Thank you also to Natassia Lee and Avery Bell for timing!
