Event Title: BCSS Provincial Swim Championships

Twelve swimmers from Grade 8 to Grade 12 competed at the Provincial Championships at Watermania this past Friday and Saturday, November 17th and 18th. On Friday, the small team qualified 2 Individual events and 4 relays for Saturday's finals. It was an exciting day to watch them race. They won 2 relay events and both individual events while breaking two Provincial records. The girls placed third overall in the AA category! Please read the details below:

To start of the day, Emma Lawson broke the provincial record to win the B girls 50 m backstroke.

Then, Lauren Toy won the B girls 50m breaststroke.

Outracing the second placed team by almost 5 seconds, Yik Jun Wong, Katherine Toy, Emma Lawson and Young Ye broke a 22 year old record to win the B 4x50m mixed freestyle relay.

Close to the end of day in an exciting race, Stephanie Lee, Cindy Shu, Katherine Toy and Emma Lawson won back the Open girls 4x50m freestyle relay event. They came within 2/100th of a second to beating their own record from last year set by Stephanie, Cindy, Katherine and now alumni Isabelle Lei.

In the very last race of the day, Yik Jun Wong, Ryan Kniel, Young Ye and Kevin Liu placed sixth in the Open boy's 4x50m freestyle relay.

Our mixed medley relay made up of Ryan, Lauren, Cindy and Jun placed twelfth.

Eric Gao and Natassia Lee also raced in the meet.
