The VSO School of Music Future of Excellence Concerto Competition promotes, celebrates and supports the aspirations and achievements of young musicians studying at the VSO School of Music. The Competition is held annually in Pyatt Hall at the VSO School of Music in downtown Vancouver and seeks to offer scholarship funding, recital and professional development opportunities and the chance to appear as a soloist in concert with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra during the following season.

On Friday, June 2, Emma Hoglund (Grade 9) competed in the senior division (age 14-19) against 32 other outstanding musicians. She was selected as one of two finalists, and then went on to be chosen as the winner! Emma will receive a scholarship, and will perform as a soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra during the 2017-18 season. Congratulations Emma on this outstanding achievement!
