Country Fair

The annual Country Fair is held the first Saturday in May each year. This fun event provides an opportunity for us to give back to our community and is our biggest “friend-raiser”, calling for the participation of every school family. Opportunities abound for contributions, such as: sponsorships, donations of gently-used items for the 'family garage sale' (i.e. clothing, books, and toys), specific food requirements as well as baked items and cakes. In addition, a wide range of opportunities for volunteer participation are available from months of planning and organization through to a half-day shift on the day of the event. In fact, Fair Day involves the participation of over 500 volunteers.

In the following video, Bretton Kosick (2011-2012 Communications Steward) asks parents and students what they like about volunteering at the Country Fair. Some common themes emerge – helping to support the school, putting smiles on people's faces, building a sense of community, and meeting new parents. It takes a strong community of parents, grandparents, students and alumni to make the Country Fair such a wonderful success!
