Service Learning gives students the opportunity to explore their relationship to and responsibility for others in their local and global communities. Many students will experience learning in the context of service within their courses, and there is the opportunity for further exploration through voluntary opportunities with their peers or on their own.
Junior School students tend to do many activities within the school community. In the MYP, they are encouraged to take initiative and champion awareness or fundraise towards causes they feel passionate about. In Senior School, students progress to local community or global activities. These range from reaching out to the local community in small groups and on their own, to taking on year-long projects that culminate in visiting and working in our sister communities in Kenya, Ecuador and India.
