Southridge School invites applications for the position of Deputy Head of School.

Southridge is a co-ed, K-12 independent day school situated in South Surrey, BC. The 17-acre campus offers separate Junior and Senior School buildings with over 100,000 square feet of first-class school facilities. Southridge has approximately 114 faculty and staff, and 680 students – 360 in the Senior School and 320 in the Junior School. The Junior School uses the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme to deliver course content; and the Senior School uses the Senior School Educational Program (SSEP), with a Harkness philosophy. The curriculum provides opportunities for authentic, experiential learning and the School's programs and culture foster the development of character, leadership, and skills that enable its students to realize their full potential.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Deputy Head of School manages many aspects of the day-to-day operations of the School, works to synchronize a clear articulation of the School's Kindergarten to Grade 12 educational program, and oversees student services, which includes learning strategies, social-emotional counselling and university counselling. In addition, in the Head of School's absence, the Deputy Head maintains overall responsibility for the operations of the School, by ensuring that all administrative aspects are run in a manner that supports the philosophic, academic, and strategic objectives of Southridge. 

The new Deputy Head will be a respected educational leader and a proven school administrator, preferably with a Master's Degree in Educational Administration or a related discipline, and with teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary school levels. A thorough understanding of independent school culture, the Harkness philosophy, and experience with IB, specifically PYP and MYP, would be considered assets. The Deputy Head will have a passion for the education of children across all grades, and will be a person of character, strong values, and integrity, with a style that allows them to connect with all members of the Southridge community.
