Volunteering

At Southridge School, we don’t track parent volunteer hours. We don’t have to.

Our current and past parents, alumni and friends, contribute thousands of volunteer shifts each year – everything from sorting clothing for the Country Fair to sorting books in the library. Volunteering is at the very heart of the Southridge School experience. It’s one of the reasons families choose us to begin with.

This participation contributes to closer bonds with other parents, students, faculty and staff as well as a fuller understanding of our Southridge culture. Working together toward a common goal with like-minded people brings a special sense of accomplishment for all.

“Community spirit is the biggest reason we are committed to Southridge. You see it in the big events like Country Fair, with thousands of hands working together. You see it day to day with parents pitching in to watch kids. It’s a sense of belonging and connection that gives us such peace of mind. And the kids see us walking the talk, volunteering and giving back, contributing even though it won’t benefit our own children directly. It’s part of the legacy of contribution – of leaving a place better than you found it.”
